GRID 2 (Multi)

Postby Pres » Thu May 02, 2013 8:48 am

Its getting closer, due for release at the end of May 2013. Codemasters GRID 2

This is, aside from the possibility of a next generation Sony console, is the only game remaining on my 2013 pre order list.

Having loved the first game which was released in 2008, Codemasters have had some time to work on the sequel, nearly 5 years although, I doubt they devoted everyday of those last years on this alone. Its a racer from Codemasters so, my anticipation is high and, yesterday I saw video of LiveRoutes. Similar to that of SplitSecond, the track can change during the race so, as the trailer puts it, you will never know what way the track is going next.

Does anyone else have this on the horizon to add to their collection and, has anyone played a demo at any of the trade shows and can confirm its all good?

I think Codies have been quite busy with the F1 games!

I'll keep on eye on Grid 2 as I liked the team running aspect of the first. But I've got an unplayed copy of F1 2011 to have a go at, plus plenty of other driving in Forza 4, horizon, shift 2 etc if I need to get behind a wheel.

I also have a massive back log although, only a couple are racers that I want to play more of.

I have added a post for this game to the front page http://www.ninjafatpigeons.co.uk/2013/05/grid-2/

I saw this on Xan's twitter feed http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-05-28-grid-2-review

I cancelled my pre-order on the basis of the review. It seems codemasters are not sure what they want the game to be. Very American in its racing type and career mode aggressively fronted with an empty story.

Whilst I will still give it a try at some point, I wont at £39.00. One for the sub £25.00 purchase point which, Im sure this will be in around 60/90 days after release.

To continue with the pile of shame then :-)

This is now on the £25.00 mark and, just over a month since release!!! Codemasters must be taking a hit on this. I am still tempted but, will give it another month for it to fall sub £20.00 as, I am in no rush.

This is like my very own thread LOL.

I ordered this yesterday and, paid £25.12 for it with some Shopto reward points. Xan sent me a tweet giving this game two thumbs up after he picked it up now the price has dropped.

Now, to my knowledge there are only a couple of games mine and Xans opinions differ and, they are Motorstorm Apocalypse and Mirrors Edge. I loved MS Apocalypse and, hated Mirrors Edge to the point I actually throw my copy in the bin (I got it cheap). On that basis, if Xan gave it a double thumbs up, I had to give it a whirl.

Should have it on Saturday and, having only played story based games for the last couple of weeks, will be nice to put some rubber down on tarmac.

Was that two thumbs up out of five or two thumbs out of ten?

LOL, out of 5 I can cope, out of 10 I will assume Xan is working for Codies on their sales team!
